In recent years, Qinghai Province has vigorously developed its wolfberry industry and actively opened up wolfberry market in accordance with the development ideas of “Eastern Seabuckthorn and Western Wolfberry”, relying on superior natural conditions and industrial basis, and achieved remarkable results.

However, due to the development of wolfberry industry, the single product variety, small scale of production and lagging brand cultivation restrict the promotion of competitiveness of wolfberry industry. Based on the in-depth understanding of the development status of Chinese wolfberry industry in Qinghai Province, this paper evaluates the industrial competitiveness of characteristic Chinese wolfberry industry by using comprehensive index evaluation method, clarifies its market position, and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for improving the competitiveness of Chinese wolfberry industry in Qinghai Province.

Production conditions of Goji berries in Qinghai
The Goji berries production area in Qinghai Province is mainly located in the Qaidam Basin in Qinghai Province. The annual illumination time in this area is 2530-3200 hours, the total radiation is 660-725 joules/square centimeters, and the temperature difference between day and night is large.

In addition, the Qaidam Basin is rich in land resources, which can provide more than 300,000 mu of land for Goji berries cultivation, providing sufficient space for large-scale cultivation of Goji berries in Qinghai. What we need to do is to integrate the brand and management mode, enhance the production and sales capacity of Goji berries, concentrate on research and increase investment, improve the level of intensive processing of Goji berries products, and enhance the core competitiveness of Mingjuyang Goji berries.
